As certified energy auditor kleinkraft assesses energy efficiency measures of its customers for the acknoledgement according to the Austrian energy efficiency law. Energy efficiency measures result in energy savings of electricity and natural gas. Within the assessed projects of big and well-known industrial companies yearly energy savings are achieved:

Since 2017 kleinkraft and its customers are awarded with the energy efficiency award. Raising the energy efficiency is a key tool for energy savings and long term reduction of CO2-emissions. To highlight this, each year the energy efficiency conference is organised by "klimaaktiv".

"klimaaktiv" is the climate protection initiative of the Austrian Ministry for Climate Action, Enviroment, Energy, Mobility, Innoation and Technology (BMK) and an instrument to foster the energy transition.

Photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 1,500 kWp were realized at our customers. The produced electricity is utilized to cover the own electricity demand. Plants withouth high energy demand are supplying the electricity to the Austrian power grid.

kleinkraft accompanied the whole process from the idea until the implementation within the following steps:

• Feasibility study and sizing
• Definition of assessment criteria
• Obtaining and comparision of offers
• Obtaining permits
• Successful public funding application

To reduce the energy demand for the heating supply, an industrial heat pump was installed. The waste heat of the cooling machine and eco-electricity are used for efficient and CO2 neutral process heat production.

Energy audits for the Wiesbauer Holding AG according to the Austrian energy efficiency law for buildings, process and mobility were conducted. Focus for these energy audits was laid on the identification of optimization measures to increase renewable energy on the one hand and reduce the energy demand on the other hand. Energy saving potentials and dynamic amortisation for the identified measures were calculated, technical descriptions made, and potential public funding possibilities identified. The interaction of processes was shown and possibilities to measure the impact were identified.

The following representative sites of Wiesbauer Holding AG were selected for conducting energy audits:

Results:

• Optimization potential’s for energy efficiency and renewable energy were shown
• Concrete measures and a realization strategy were defined
• Implementation of the measures including public funding was done afterwards

With the installed waste heat recovery an integrated heat concepts was implemented with the focus on waste heat utilization in lowest temperature range. During planning a special focus was at the loads in low temperature ranges. In many cases there is low demand for low temperature waste heat resulting in low efficiency of waste heat recovery systems. In cooling and especially in freezing there are many consumers.
