Professional waste and wastewater treatment as well as local energy supply is a huge challenge in Tanzania. To solve this problem the technical requirements for the production of biogas and its economic feasibility was evaluated. Companies from the sisal processing, fattening and slaughtering as well as a food processing company was evaluated.
The focus was on the material and energy flows as well as waste quality and possible energy production systems and their economic feasibility. One of the reports was published by UNIDO.
